What is the difference between a Deep Tissue and Swedish massage?
Our two most popular massages differ both in benefits and in pressure applied by the massage therapist. The Swedish Massage is intended to induce a heightened state of tranquility - our massage therapists use light but firm pressure to increase circulation and encourage relaxation. Our Deep Tissue Massage is intended for those with deep tension in the muscles and connective tissues, which can be worked out with firmer pressure. Some may find it to be slightly painful, but in applying more pressure the massage therapist can ease chronic pain and increase joint mobility. If you want the best of both worlds, we offer an intermediate pressure massage which we call the "De-Stress massage." This is a great option for those that prefer medium pressure or only have one or two areas with pain or tension.
What sanitation practices are used at our spa?
Every night at closing time and every morning upon opening, we disinfect tools and implements using Ultracare Disinfectant, which is EPA, OSHA, CDC, and State Board compliant as a medical grade disinfectant. Ultracare quickly kills over 141 potentially harmful microorganisms, including HIV-1 and Hepatitis C. After being cleaned with Ultracare, all tools and implements are placed in a UV sterilizer to further ensure your safety and good health. A fresh disposable liner is used for each pedicure, thus eliminating the risk of any bacteria remaining in the tub.
